Rifle Scope Mounts for hunting and sporting weapons

Many sportsmen don't realize just how important quality is in a rifle scope mount, and instead, prefer to spend as little as possible on the mount. It soon becomes clear that it makes sense to use a quality mount even on a cheaper weapon, due to problems arising from a mount that is not shot-resistant.

Some mounts claim to be shot-resistant, but only in that the scope stays on the weapon and does not fall off! It is extremely important that the scope can be properly fitted without tension whilst maintaining the ability to adjust the mount accordingly.

Even weapons that are produced according to modern standards show enormous tolerances on relevant components. If there is, for example, a difference in height between the front and rear foot of ± 0.5 mm it will result in a deviation of approx. 0.5 m when firing a shot at a distance of 100 m!

Even if the reticule adjustment can compensate, it doesn't make sense "to waste" it on this mis-match. For this reason, EAW pivot mounts offer you a lot of possibilities for adjustment.

The stress a mount is exposed to when firing a shot is enormous. With a medium calibre weapon the weight of the rifle and scope acts upon the mount with approx. 300 kg, in some very extreme cases it is even with up to 600 kg!
