Pivot Mounts with lever for break-open rifles

The pivot mount with lever is a real alternative to the claw mount, especially for break-open rifles. Approved by DEVA (German Research Institute for Hunting and Sporting Arms) since 1979, this mount withstands the strongest stresses: even after 10,000 shots, removing and replacing the scope repeatedly resulted in no detectable change in zero.

Advantages of the pivot mount with lever.

  • Stable and reliable construction which guarantees an optimum repeatability of  the point of impact even after replacing the scope
  • Lowest arrangement of the mounting plates for an extremely low profile fit of the scope and an elegant overall appearance
  • Very low rear feet with support
  • Fast mounting time
  • Mounting parts at a good prices
  • Lever safety device preventing any unwanted opening of the lock

Pivoting the scope:

Push back the sliding handle with one finger of your left hand. With that movement, the safety bolt is moved inside and releases the clamping lever. Now, you can move down the lever with your thumb, swing the scope through 90° and remove the scope.

Replacing the scope:

This is done the other way around, where the clamping lever may only be moved up so far that the safety bolt jumps out and latches in, with the consequence that accidental unlocking is prevented.

Advice:

The lever must be adjusted in such a way that it lies close to the safety bolt when the lever is in locking position. This is the case when the safety bolt jumps out when being clamped with moderate pressure. If the lever is tightened any further, and was not adjusted precisely leaving some space between the safety bolt and the lever, it may be possible that the lever unlocks itself due to recoil. This will effect the point of impact.

Advice for the gunsmith:

It is advisable to keep a small stock of levers with different starts of tap. This will make adjustments much easier. To make it easier for you to determine the respective start of tap we recommend you our EAW caliber for lock levers with the ref. no. 22200.
